Italy

The origins of Italian wine date back to about 4000 years. Vineyards can be found in all regions. Italy is known for the diversity and the typicality of its wines, which surprisingly does not seem to have been affected by globalization. Since 1960, the DOC (the equivalent of French AOC) govern and control the quality of the wines. Those DOC contributed significantly to improve the quality and reputation of Italian wines.
